1. Overview

motorhomefinancecalculator.co.uk ("this site", "we", "us") is a free, independent educational tool for comparing motorhome finance options. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we collect and how it is used.

2. Calculator Data

All finance calculations run entirely in your web browser. The numbers you enter into our calculators (vehicle price, deposit, term, interest rate, etc.) are processed locally on your device and are not sent to our servers unless you choose to use our email results feature (see Section 3).

3. Email Results Feature

We offer an optional feature that allows you to receive your calculator results by email. If you choose to use this feature, we collect:

• Your email address (required)
• Your name (optional, if provided)
• The calculator results you chose to send (finance type, vehicle price, deposit, term, monthly payment, total cost, and total interest)

This information is used solely to send you the requested email containing your calculation results. We use Resend, a third-party email delivery service, to send these emails on our behalf. Your data is transmitted securely and Resend processes it only for the purpose of delivering your email.

4. Finance Partner Contact (Opt-In)

When using the email results feature, you may also choose to tick the box labelled "I'd like a finance specialist to contact me about my options." This is entirely optional and is not selected by default.

If you opt in, we will share your email address, name (if provided), and the calculator results from your session with selected third-party motorhome finance companies ("finance partners") so that they can contact you to discuss finance options. By ticking this box, you give us explicit consent to share this information with our finance partners for this purpose.

If you do not opt in, your information is used only to send you the results email and is not shared with any third party beyond our email delivery provider.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

• To send you your calculator results by email, when you request this
• To pass your details to finance partners, only if you explicitly opt in
• To respond to any enquiries you send us

We do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you have opted in to partner contact. We do not sell your data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

Email addresses and associated calculator results submitted through our email feature are retained for up to 12 months to handle any follow-up queries, after which they are deleted. If you opted in to finance partner contact, please note that our partners will have their own data retention policies, which you should review with them directly.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used (e.g. which pages are popular, typical session length). If analytics are used, they do not track individual users, do not use cookies for identification, and comply with GDPR without requiring consent. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers.

8. Local Storage

The site stores your theme preference (light or dark mode) and cookie consent choice in your browser's local storage. These are technical preferences only and contain no personal information. You can clear them at any time via your browser settings.

9. URL Parameters

When you use the "Share" feature, calculator values are encoded in the URL. This allows you to share specific calculations with others. These URLs contain financial parameters (e.g. vehicle price, deposit) but no personal identifying information.

10. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel — website hosting
• Resend — email delivery for the results email feature
• Finance partners — only if you opt in to be contacted (see Section 4)

We do not integrate with any advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or marketing platforms.

11. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal data
• Withdraw your consent to finance partner contact at any time
• Object to the processing of your personal data
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

12. Children's Privacy

This site is intended for adults considering motorhome finance. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 18.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. If we make significant changes to how we handle personal data, we will make this clear on the site.
